Summer Staples

"Life isn't about getting and having, Its about giving and being."- Kevin Kruse

For a change in England the last few weeks have been scorching and i'm absolutely loving it. Although i'm sat in a muggy office all day through out the week, i like to make sure i make the most of it on my free days. This years antics have included a few beer gardens and lazy sun lounging. Summer is one of my favorite seasons, the sunshine, the positive attitude, the socializing and the summer clothing. But  i always like to have a few staple summer pieces , a few of mine include:

a good pair of sunglasses, which might i add, i have quite an obsession with purchasing - My sunglasses are from eBay from a china company for about £1.50 (BARGAIN) and the case from River Island for £5.00
These ones are a circle cat eye effect with leopardy print frame and are really on trend at the minute i love how they look on the face.

A comfy pair of jelly shoes- mine are from ASOS for around the £10 mark
These are one of the most comfiest pair of summer sandals i own, and as it gets hot and sticky its always important to have some breathable shoes so your feet don't get too sweaty. These are perfect for that, and go with almost any outfit.

Some beautiful moisturising lip balms- mine below are a Soap and Glory Smooch operator- Boots, around £5.00 & an EOS balm in passion fruit - eBay about £6.00
I absolutely love the smell of the Smooch Operator, it has a lovely coconut scent and its easy and not sticky to apply. The EOS balm is more on the pricey side but again really moisturising on the lips and has a delicious passion fruit flavor.

Fresh summer scent- Avon Little Pink Dress- £15.00 (picture taken from Google)
I always get asked what i am wearing when i wear this fragrance, its lovely and sweet and a perfect scent for summertime.

and finally a top summer tune.. this year i have chosen Mr. Probz- Waves as this will be the track i remember for summer 2014.

so please make sure you enjoy your summer with your summer staples, what are your must haves? and remember always apply your sun cream!

Extremely belated new year post.

So this is lonnnng over due and i apologise for my lack of posts, however i come today with my head in my hands ready to deliver an awesome blog post..

Ok that may be a little lie but i will most definitely up date you with the main events of 2014 so far!

New Year!
My new year plans weren't so planned, in fact it was more like get ready and just see where the night takes us. It just so happened to be a crazy night with some of my close friends which i really enjoyed. It was also the beginning of 2014 were i decided to make some decisions (and were i promised to post more blog's) (so far not so good)!

Last Ever Blast Off!
Now this was a big event of 2014, as a big part of my past where a lot of memories were made was closing down forever! It turned out to be a very eventful night where one of our girls went missing for the entire night and turned up at the end of the of night strolling out the men's toilets, where she had fallen asleep. However barring that it was an awesome closing down party. RIP BLAST OFF!(Y)

Baby Melissa-Rose xo
This was a huge event of the year so far. My beautiful baby cousin Missy was born. She weighed 8pounds 1oz and was born on the 31st March 2014.

A picture speaks a thousand words. Pure perfection!

So far these are the main moments of 2014!

Festivity!

ITS CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Christmas happens to be one of my favourite times of year, which i guess a lot of people would say, i mean whats not to love.. the decorations, the events, the food, the giving presents, the family time, friends together. Christmas is truly a time of the year that you can be together and enjoy 'the best things in life'.

This year, after being in my new place for the second year i was extra excited to put up my own decorations. I opted this year for a lovely dark tree, with pink, white, blue and glittery decorations all to match my home decor. A few more candles dotted about as everyone knows how much i enjoy a good candle! Fairy lights, and a light up snowman and penguin! I really love when it looks so festive.

Also at Christmas i like to make sure i have the Christmas album on my Ipod and thought today i would share with you my favourite Christmas song, it always reminds me of being young at Christmas discos with party food, dancing with my Friends. It makes me feel really Christmassy!

There's a little into my Christmas spirit, what do you do to bring the Christmas to your home?
Have a very Merry Christmas!

Typical, Everyday Make-Up ..

So today my lovelys, i thought i would show you my typical everyday make up routine.
This may not be to everyones taste, so please don't feel like it's what you should be doing, it's just my own personal everyday look.

THE ROUTINE:
  • Cleanse and Tone
  • Moisturise and de-puffing eye cream
  • Foundation & Concealer
  • Press powder
  • Fill in the brows
  • Line the eyelids
  • Apply false eye lashes
  • Apply mascara
  • Contour the hollows of the cheeks
  • Blush on the apples of the cheeks
  •  Lipstick
  •

The first products i use are the Garnier Simply Essentials Cleaners & Toner. Now i have tried a few cleanser & toners and find that i always go back to this brand, they are a great affordable price, they are easy to get hold of. They always leave my skin feeling fresh and clean, and have a really nice fresh grape scent. Moving on to mositurisers, and eyecreams now, the one i am currently using is the Monu Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 & the Sancturary Covent Garden eye brightening gel. The ones i have are minitures, the moisturiser i got in a previous GlossyBox and the Sancturary eye gel i got in a gift set. Both of which i will most definitley purchasing in a full size when they are finished. The Monu Moisturiser does exactly what it says in the name, it leaves my skin feeling very hydrated and soft, which is exactly what you need in a good moisturiser. I often find it hard to get a mosituriser that doesnt mke my skin break out, and this one is brilliant!
Once i have moisturised, i then use my Elf Powder brush to apply a pea sized amount of foundation all over my face and neck. Mine at the moment is Rimmel Match Perfection in shade True Nude- 302, i really do love this foundation, it gives amazing all over cover and is quite light on the skin. So i doesn't look caked on.

After foundation i then move on to concealing all my blemishes, red patches, and under the eye circles using, yes you've guessed it, the most raved about concealer to ever hit the beauty community, Collections Lasting Perfection in shade medium light. This is for sure the best concealer i have ever used, and would recommend anyone looking for a good drugstore concealer to get. To make sure my face is set i then press powder my face with a large powder brush using at the moment an MUA pressed powder in medium. This is something which i am testing out, i am still very unsure of this product, and need to use for abit longer to make a set decision on whether i enjoy it, as i am finding i need to re-apply throughout the day.

Apologises on the writing being rubbed out, it is just well loved!

To fill my eyebrows in, i use a dark brow eye shadow with angled line brush, as i find shadow in the brows looks alot more natural then a penciled brow. You can also get a more defined look using a brush. Im using a small BeautyUk natural palete to do this. I only use this palete for this particular use, as the quality of the shadows i think are not that good for on the eyelid. so i am still on the look out for a good brow shadow!

I then line my eyelid line with a dark brown/ or black shadow, as i find its a lot softer on the lid, and more subtle look for everyday and as i wear false eyelashes all the time, it is also a background for them to be placed. I line the lid using a really small eye shadow brush with the colour black from my Sleek BadGirl palete, (which i believe is a limited edition one). Sleek paletes are the best drugstore paletes ever! They are highly pigmented, and come in such a large variety of colours.

Now as previously mentioned, i ALWAYS wear false eye lashes, the reason for this is purely because i have such large eyes, and my eye lashes are so tiny, my eyes never really look finished until i have put some on. Once my lashes have been applied, i put my mascara on both top & bottom lashes. The one im currently using is the Jelly PongPong Fairy Lashes. This is a brilliant mascara, and is super easy to apply. It really make my eye lashes stand out.

Now that my eyes, face and brows are complete, i like to contour the hollows of my cheeks, and apply some blush. By now you will probably realise i am a very big Sleek fan, so for sure the contour kit i use is Sleeks Kit in Medium. It is such a good kit and definitely ticks all the boxes, not only is it good for contouring, it has a bronzer and highlighter included! Absoulutely one of my favourite beauty purchases. And for blush on the apples of my cheeks i will use also another Sleek product, the blush Rose Gold. This is a beautiful product, really pigmented, beautiful colour, easy to use, and you dont need much at all.

Swatch of the colour 110 to the left

Finally the lips! you will soon learn i LOVE a good red lip! So typically i like to wear a nice red, whether that be dark, or a bright one. The one i have currently chosen to wear is from the Kate Moss collection in Rimmel, the shade 110. Her collection is super lovely, really good nutrioning lipsticks, that last for hours, without needed to re-apply.

So there you go, my everyday make up look & routine at the moment, please be sure to leave me recommendations for good press powders or brow shadows. I'm really keen on finding new ones for my collection.

Belle & Beau..

As you already know i have two wonderful, cute, adorable little Kitty's! But i wasn't always happy about having my own pets...

I have always grown up with animals in my family whether that be cats, dogs, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, mice and rabbits. Yes, as you can tell my family (mainly my dad) are very big animal people! Now me, I've never been too fussed about animals, don't get me wrong i love all animals, and believe they should all be loved equally, big or small, but I've never been one to have any of my own.
The reason behind this was purely because i live independently, i work full time and if I'm honest i like my own space! (this probably makes me selfish)

So how on earth did i manage to end up with these two beautiful Kitty's?

Well this where it all started, one day after finally sitting down in my newly decorated place i was reflecting on how much my life had changed in the past year. I had started a new job, moved home, and was finally happy with my life right now, however i did still feel like something was missing somehow. So after some serious thought, it was then the idea was born (with my sisters help!) why don't i get a cat? They're easy to look after, don't make a mess, and they are real loving, family animals. Then i remembered i work all day so they would be on their own and it wouldn't be fair. I know I'll have TWO! They can accompany themselves during the day when I'm at work. So after all the 'i don't think ill ever have any pets' i sent my momma on a hunt to look for two kittens of  my own.

After weeks of searching, a young woman had two little cuties ready to be re-homed, my momma sent me photos of them, and oh boy they were cute, they needed to be my little babies! So that's how i ended up with two kittens!

Beau: Means beautiful for boy.      Belle: Means beautiful for girl.

They're now about 9 months old, and it was one of the best decisions I've made! Even though they can be little nightmares at times, i couldn't imagine them not being part of my life. They greet me every morning, they cosy up with me, they are two little Kitty's with huge personality's! They for sure complete my new home!

I know this post wont appeal to some, but i just wanted to share the two most beautiful Kitty's i have ever seen!

Halloween Dilemas ..

So il start by saying Halloween is one of my least favourite occassions of the year, (as i am a huge scardy cat!) however this year i was really looking forward to it, strange i know! It just so happened to land on the exact weekend the twinnies of my group of girlfriends, 22nd birthday outings were going to be. Which meant only one thing.. HALLOWEEN FANCY DRESS!

I love getting dressed up in awesome outfits. so thats when it started, the researching of soooo many outfits and costumes, but i really couldnt find anything that really grabbed me. It was really beginning to bug me, then an idea poped into my head. Why not grunge up an old Dorothy costume i had hidden at the back of the warddrobe? (this was gathering dust). And that is when the ideas just started poping into my head, Zombie Dorothy, Dead Dorothy, Voodoo Dorothy, Vampire Dorothy..

After watching soooo many halloween make up tutorials on YouTube, i finally found my perfect idea!

I used the Dorothy costume as a 'dolls dress' & blooded up the high white socks that came with it, i decided to style the look with my black creepers.

I made my face into part doll, part Zombie.

Featured| Collection 2000 foundation, MUA pallete, Sleek Pout paint, Sleek contour kit in medium, Rimmel Lip liner, Collection 2000 liquid liner in black, Sleek pallete BAD GIRL, MeMeMe pigment in black shimmer.

I washed, and part dried my hair then dutch braided. left for several hours and then undid the braids. after brushing all the waves, i back combed the top section of my hair and pinned into a quiff. i then back combed the rest of my roots so it looked big. using hair spray i heavily yes heavily sprayed to hold it in place for the night. Scary hair!!!

And the look was complete! Part doll,Part zombie came to life!

The night was awesome and the look stayed scary till then end, it has definitley made me look forward to next years events!
